Suresh Khanna, finance minister of Uttar Pradesh, in the recent budget on Thursday, gave more importance to the overall growth and development of tourism. To create employment among locals has been the prime agenda. Also, special focus has been imparted on Ayodhya and Kashi. In the budget, a maximum provision of Rs. 250 crore has been put forward for the Tourist Places Scheme of the CM. This scheme was started for the growth and development of one tourist hotspot in every constituency. The main purpose of the scheme is to create a tourist destination locally. For this scheme, proposals were requested from the MLAs. Besides, overall tourism development, in the budget, special care has been given to Ayodhya and Kashi. For the development and beautification of these places, Rs. 100 crore is proposed.

For Chitrakoot, a provision of Rs. 3.50 crore has been proposed. Here during the period of exile, Lord Rama has spent his majority of time with his wife Sita and brother Laxman. For Vindhya Dham Teerth Vikas Parishad, in the budget, Rs. 3.50 crore has been mooted. In future, this place will become one of the shakti peethas of India.
