China’s Embassy in India has modernized its COVID-19 visa rule after being on a break of two years. Supposedly, China hasdismissed the visa prohibition now which wasenforced on Indian nationals. The country hasdeclared that it is planning to deliver visas to professionals fromIndiaalong with their families, who have been unable to travel back to China in the wake of theCovid-19 pandemic.
This move is definitely ahugerespite for Indian professionals along with their families, who were confined back home since the year 2020. Last month, many Indian experts based in China askedS. Jaishankar, theExternal Affairs Minister to put pressure on Beijing to permit their stranded families to come back.
Besides the Indians, the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi said that family members of residents from China and all foreigners having Chinese permanent residence authorizations, visiting China for family get-togethersor visiting relatives, can apply for a visa at the same time.
As per current reports, visas for private reasons or only tourists will be postponedas of now, with Chinese authorities remainingwatchful about the spreading of the virus. Relying on latest reports, the new visa ruleis already in practice.
China is also on trackto process requests and submissions for a huge number of students from India, who had applied for a student visa.
