Today, the Vaishnodevi Sarovar Portico Katra was opened by Sarovar Hotels.

It’s the first outpost in Katra located at the foothills of Shri Vaishno Devi Ji. Today this was inaugurated together by the Managing Director, Sarovar Hotels, Mr. Ajay Bakaya and the Chairperson, Katra Mata Vaishno Devi Hotels and Restaurants Private Limited, Ms. Pushpa Devi. In the inaugural ceremony, Former Advisor to Governor/Secretary Tourism Government of India, Parvez Dewan, KMVDHR Private Limited Managing Director, Rakesh Wazir, Director Raj Singh, the Chairman of the Hotel Association of Katra, Shyam Lal Kesar and Mr. Virender Kesar, the Senior Vice President were also present among many others.

Bakaya explained that the pilgrim portfolio of Sarovar Hotels include Amritsar hotels, Bodhgaya, Badrinath, Junagadh, Haridwar, Somnath, Vrindavan and Tirupati.

The hotel flawlessly balances Sarovar’s current hotels J&K like RK Sarovar Portico, and Viraj Sarovar Portico, Jammu.

He also says that Katra for devotees doesn’t merely act as a base camp for visiting Mata Vaishno Devi temple but also to explore the adjoining places. Katra provides sightseeing options like, Sanasar, Patnitop, Nau Devian, Mansar Lake, Dera Baba Banda, Dhansar, Siar Baba and Devi Pindian. Anil Madhok, the Executive Chairman, Sarovar Hotels explained that they are quite happy to open another hotel in Katra. Jammu and Kashmir fast emerging as one of the prime markets, we are expecting additional growth and more traffic to our hotels over here.
