Today, the “National Travel and Tourism Strategy” was disclosed. The strategy by 2027 has set an aim to attract 90 million international tourists. It would spend every year and estimated $279 billion to boost international tourism in tracking down the revival of the sector post pandemic situation for a more resilient, sustainable and equitable environment. Other sectors by now have recovered from COVID backlash but tourism is yet to.
During pre-pandemic times, the tourism sector generated 9.5 million US jobs. In economic production, tourism generated $1.9 trillion. For international tourists, the strategy is all set to update entry protocols. It’s being said that the entry process requires streamlining and do away with paper based rule which is making the process awkward. More digitization is the only way to avoid hassles.
