The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement R.K. Roja said that the creation of AlluriSitharamaRaju (ASR) district in the name of revolutionary freedom fighter truly shows the love of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy toward the tribal people.

On Tuesday, the Minister offered her prayers on the last day of the three-day ‘Modakondammajatara’ at Paderu.
She said that the festival is being held after a hiatus of two years in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, and was held with an aim of showcasing tribal culture and practices. The minister hoped that the Goddess would shower Her blessings on the people and them protected.

Ms.Roja said that the temple with long history has been respected by both tribals and non-tribals. She said that the Andhra government has approved a medical college, an engineering college and a super-specialty hospital for the district along with cultivation rights for the tribal people, who have been cultivating land sthere for the past several years.

The Araku Valley in Andhra is known among tourists as the ‘Switzerland of the poor.’The valley boasts of natural beauty and the Borra Caves have a unique identity, luring tourists from near and far. The Minister said that she would go all-out for the development of tourism in the Agency areas in the best way she can.
