K.S. Srinivas, the principal secretary of Kerala Tourism said that the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) has the power to reinvigorate the pandemic-stricken tourism sector and lure more domestic and foreign visitors to Kerala.
Mr.Srinivas said that the KTM that came to an end in Kochi earlier this month sent a message around the world that tourism activities are once again back at top gear in Kerala.
The four-day meetinggave rise tonew optimism in Kerala’simproved efforts to lure more domestic and foreign tourists. The international business-to-business meets that were held by Kerala Tourism can boost the arrival of foreign tourists, including visitors from West Asia, said Mr. Srinivas.
Kerala’s Caravan Tourism initiative, ‘Keravan Kerala’ is anexcellent idea to appeal to visitors, and Mr. Srinivaspraised the organizers for showcasing the initiativeconspicuously in the event.
KTM provided a concrete stage for direct interaction between buyers and sellers, and itproved to the world that Kerala is all set to welcome visitors as a safe destination of miscellaneous attractions. This was said by V.R. Krishna Teja, the Director of Kerala Tourism. The tourism industry buyer-seller meetingis expected to achieve the goal of hosting 55,000 business-meets during the four-day conclave.
This year,KTM enabled 49,000 online communications between buyers and sellers, and 6,000 associated meetings took place, said KTM Society president Baby Mathew Somatheeram. The total number of buyers was around 1,200, including 897 from domestic market and 234 from abroad.
