Canada’s one of the vast northern territories, Yukon has a powerful and burgeoning tourism sector. “Sustainable Tourism. Our path. Our Future. 2018-2028” – Yukon’s tourism strategy has urged to set up a framework that would gauge the progress on the goals related to sustainable tourism development at par with the goals, vision and actions of the Strategy. Yukon went on to build an observatory on sustainable tourism within the INSTO Framework. The main target was to impart the sector with knowledge of sustainability to make knowledgeable decisions.
Minister of Tourism and Culture of Yukon, Ranj Pillai, explained that they are proud to be a part of this important network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories as the first northern member of Canada.
